A turnover is the pool's full volume passing through the filter once. NSF standards require filters to reduce turbidity by 70% within five turnovers. AquaStar says the Pipeline Filter does it in just one.
The Pipeline Filter is NSF/ANSI/CAN 50 certified, the standard that covers pool and spa filtration equipment. It is a cartridge filter, and AquaStar describes its clarity as DE-level.

Inside the tank
The tank is large and uniform, and the pleats inside it are spaced by design rather than packed in. Open spacing lets water reach the full pleat surface instead of the outer folds alone.
Water leaves a cartridge through its core, so the core sets how freely the filtered water can go. AquaStar's figure for the Pipeline Filter core is 64% larger openings.

PLF27000 or PLF35000: which core?
The Pipeline Filter comes as the PLF27000 and the PLF35000, and the core assembly is specific to each height. Mary Kaul found that out the roundabout way. She ordered a core assembly for her PLF35000 through Amazon, and the one that arrived was for the smaller PLF27000.
She called AquaStar and reached Katrina in customer service, who gave her the correct part number, then called back to say an extra core section would go out at no charge to bring the assembly up to the right height for her filter. Mary wrote that Katrina "went above and beyond to help me" and that the part arrived in less time than she had been told.
The takeaway for anyone ordering: check the model on the tank, then confirm the core part number with your distributor or with AquaStar customer service on (877) 768-2717 before the order goes in.
